UiTM students explore offshore energy's future at OTC Asia 2026

Sixty students from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) are attending the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) Asia 2026 in Kuala Lumpur. The event, held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, gives them direct exposure to the latest advancements in offshore energy technology. The group consists of Bachelor of Oil and Gas Engineering (Hons) students, all coordinated by the SPE UiTM Student Chapter (SPE UiTM SC). Their visit focuses on key 'Future Tech' areas such as digitalisation, artificial intelligence, and decarbonisation solutions. These topics reflect the rapid changes shaping the offshore sector.

Beyond technical insights, the conference serves as a major networking opportunity. Students can connect with professionals from leading global energy companies. SPE UiTM SC emphasises the importance of preparing engineers for real-world challenges, aligning with UiTM's broader push for graduate employability. By engaging with industry experts, the students gain practical knowledge that complements their academic training. The experience is designed to make them more competitive in the job market upon graduation.

The initiative reinforces UiTM's dedication to producing work-ready graduates. Students leave with a clearer understanding of industry trends and stronger professional connections. Their participation also highlights the university's focus on bridging education and real-world demands.
