Ukraine's drone blitz cripples Russian supply lines in occupied south
Ukrainian forces have intensified drone strikes on Russian-occupied territories in southern Ukraine. The campaign targets key supply routes and infrastructure, causing significant disruptions. Fuel shortages have already been reported in some areas under Russian control. Over the past year, Ukraine has carried out more than 365 successful drone strikes. These operations focus on logistics networks up to 300 kilometres behind enemy lines. At least 27 military formations are now involved in these long-range attacks.
The R-280 highway, also called the 'Novorossiya' route, is a major target. Ukrainian drones have hit fuel depots, transportation hubs, and other critical infrastructure. Russian forces have responded by restricting civilian traffic and strengthening air defences.
Ukraine’s drone arsenal includes models like the RAM-2X, Bulava, and FP-2. These systems vary in range and payload capacity. Russian air defence units have been frequently engaged, with many confirmed as targets in the campaign. The 'Logistic Lockdown' initiative seeks to weaken Russia’s ability to maintain offensive operations. Disruptions to supply lines have already led to fuel shortages in occupied regions. Ukrainian forces continue to expand their drone capabilities and strike range.
