Vietnam’s banking sector is preparing for major structural and operational changes ahead of new regulations in 2026. To address these shifts, the World Financial Innovation Series (WFIS) will take place in Hanoi on 19–20 May, gathering industry leaders and experts for key discussions.
The two-day event will bring together over 500 pre-qualified delegates, including senior decision-makers and financial practitioners. Among the participants are Thuong Nguyen, Deputy CDAIO at VietinBank, and Ngoc Lan Anh Nguyen, Chief Technology & Operations Officer at Standard Chartered Bank. Both will share insights on data, AI, and banking innovation.
Topics on the agenda include cloud-native banking platforms, digital money, cybersecurity, and financial inclusion. The summit has also attracted gold sponsors such as nCino, StreamCube, Audax, CleverTap, and WSO2, reinforcing its industry significance. The Vietnam Banks Association (VNBA) is supporting the event as a partner. Sudhir Jena, Co-founder and CEO of Tradepass, emphasised the importance of the platform in helping businesses navigate Vietnam’s evolving financial landscape. The discussions aim to provide clarity on upcoming regulatory changes and their impact on operations.
The WFIS summit will serve as a critical forum for banking professionals to exchange ideas and strategies. With new regulations approaching in 2026, the event offers a chance to explore solutions for compliance, technology, and financial inclusion. Organisers expect the discussions to shape the future direction of Vietnam’s banking sector.
