Volunteers transform Nyuklinskaya Spit with a four-hour coastal cleanup

A community cleanup took place along the shore of Nyuklinskaya Spit on May 25 Volunteers spent four hours removing household rubbish from several kilometres of shoreline. A loader was brought in to collect the filled bags, preventing overflow in the existing bins. The focus included spots that municipal services often struggle to access.

Local officials joined the effort, with Andrei Zykov, First Deputy Chairman of the Magadan Regional Duma, calling the cleanup a valuable tradition. The Youth Parliament had previously organised a similar event along Nagayevo Bay, where they also reported less litter over time. Residents interested in arranging their own cleanups can visit the Administrative and Technical Inspection at 3B Gorky Square during working hours. Support and advice are also available by phone at +7 (4132) 201-112.

The May 25 cleanup removed waste from Nyuklinskaya Spit, with organisers highlighting steady improvements in shoreline cleanliness. Future efforts can be coordinated through local authorities, ensuring ongoing maintenance of the area.
