Wedemark's free solar evening helps homeowners go green by 2035

Wedemark is accelerating its climate goals by hosting a free solar energy information evening. The main event takes place on March 2 at the Bürgerhaus in Bissendorf. Organisers aim to help homeowners explore rooftop solar options as part of the municipality's plan to reach climate neutrality by 2035.

The evening will feature a 'Market of Opportunities', where various solar providers present their products and services. Attendees can speak directly with experts about technical needs, financial support, and expected energy yields.

Energy consultant Frederik Küting will lead a session on balcony solar systems. Meanwhile, Mayor Helge Zychlinski and representatives from the Hanover Region's Climate Protection Agency will explain how to maximise roof space for solar panels. The municipality is encouraging residents to adopt solar power as a way to cut energy use and boost renewable sources.

Registration for the event is open now via the Climate Protection Agency's website. The initiative aligns with Wedemark's broader strategy to phase out fossil fuels and meet its 2035 climate target.

The March 2 event offers homeowners practical advice on installing solar systems. With expert talks and provider displays, the evening supports Wedemark's transition to cleaner energy. Residents can sign up online to secure their place.
