A wildfire near Glenwood Springs forced the closure of Interstate 70 in western Colorado on Tuesday. Emergency crews arrived at the scene around 3 p.m. to tackle the blaze.
By early evening, nearly 50 firefighters were battling the flames. Two helicopter teams joined the effort, dropping water to slow the fire’s advance. Authorities kept the road shut as crews worked to bring the situation under control.
