Will Smith's Epic Pole to Pole Journey Premieres This January

A new seven-part documentary series, Pole to Pole with Will Smith, is set to premiere on National Geographic. The ambitious project follows the actor as he travels from the South Pole to the North Pole, crossing all seven continents along the way. Filming took five years to complete, with Smith describing it as his most challenging adventure yet. The series tracks Smith’s journey through some of Earth’s most extreme environments. Footage from the trailer reveals him scuba diving beneath ice, scaling mountains, wrestling a giant anaconda, and navigating caves teeming with tarantulas. At times, the actor admitted he feared he might not return home safely.

*Pole to Pole* doesn’t just focus on landscapes—it also highlights the people who call these remote places home. Tom McDonald, National Geographic’s EVP of Content, praised the show for blending stunning cinematography with powerful storytelling. He noted that it offers viewers a deeper insight into how the world functions. The documentary will debut on **January 13** on National Geographic. The following day, it will stream globally on Disney+ and on Hulu in the U.S.
