Wolfsburg's New Online Health Course for Food Workers Goes Live

Wolfsburg has launched a digital health instruction course under Germany's Infection Protection Act. The training is now available online for workers in food handling and catering. Participants must complete it before starting certain jobs in the sector. The course is designed for anyone working with food, in restaurant kitchens, or in communal catering. It teaches how to spot early signs of infectious diseases and explains when health issues might stop someone from working. A certificate, valid for three months, is needed to begin such jobs.

Access to the instruction is through the city's website, rathausonline.wolfsburg.de, under the 'Services' and 'Infection Protection' sections. Users must first log in with a BundID account. The fee for the training is €26, payable by credit card or PayPal. The city has not released figures comparing participation in this digital version to previous in-person courses during the first three months.

The digital instruction provides a way for food and catering workers to meet legal health requirements. Those who complete it receive a certificate that remains valid for three months. The course aims to reduce infection risks in workplaces handling food.
