Berlin's New Forest Seasons Installation Brings Nature to Life with Light
A striking new light installation, Forest Seasons, has opened at Transformator art hall on Köpenicker Chaussee in eastern Berlin. Created by artist Christopher Bauder, the exhibit merges kinetic light art with shifting natural scenes to depict a forest's yearly cycle.
Forest Seasons builds on Bauder's earlier work, Dark Matter—an immersive winter installation featuring an ice rink in Berlin. While Dark Matter focused on static icy structures, this latest piece introduces dynamic projections and interactive light to mirror seasonal changes.
The installation is set to an original score by Dutch musician Chris Kuijten. Visitors can experience the evolving forest environment until the end of October.
The exhibit transforms the art hall into a living forest, blending architecture with nature-inspired visuals. By staying open through autumn, it offers a chance to witness seasonal transitions firsthand.
