Eid Al Etihad 2025: UAE Museums Bring History to Life Through Immersive Storytelling

Eid Al Etihad offers a chance to explore the UAE’s rich history and cultural identity. National museums across the country provide immersive experiences tracing the journey from ancient civilisations to the nation’s formation in 1971 and beyond. In Dubai, Al Shindagha Museum traces the city’s transformation over centuries. Its exhibits include a 3D excavation experience, giving visitors a hands-on look at the past. Nearby, Etihad Museum in Jumeirah tells the story of the UAE’s formation through interactive displays and stands out for its striking architecture.

Sharjah Heritage Museum delves into Emirati culture with six galleries. These cover traditional life, crafts, customs, and celebrations, offering a broad view of local heritage. Ajman Museum, set inside an 18th-century fort, focuses on daily life through old manuscripts and models of traditional irrigation systems.

Ras Al Khaimah National Museum houses artefacts dating back to 5000 BC. Its collection includes archaeological and ethnological items that highlight the region’s deep roots. Al Ain Museum in Abu Dhabi, the UAE’s oldest, has expanded its immersive exhibits to bring the ancient past to life.

The upcoming Zayed National Museum will open on 3 December 2025. It will honour Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and showcase over 1,500 artefacts. Visitors at Al Masar Garden can explore landscapes representing desert, oasis, and urban environments, alongside timelines of Sheikh Zayed’s life and UAE history. These museums preserve and present the UAE’s diverse history and cultural heritage. They provide detailed insights into the nation’s development, from early civilisations to modern achievements. Visitors can engage with the past through carefully curated exhibits and interactive displays.
