Germany's First Bitcoin Community Hub Opens in Kempten Next Week
A new Bitcoin community hub, Bitcoin Metropole, will open its doors in Kempten on March 13, 2023. Located at Rathausstraße 2 (1st floor) in the city centre, the space aims to provide an open and relaxed setting for learning about Bitcoin and connecting with others.
The hub is organised by MX12 ART, a local Bitcoin artist, with backing from the Kempten Bitcoin community. Activities will include beginner courses, workshops, meetups, and Bitcoin-themed art projects. The team welcomes additional supporters and volunteers to help grow the initiative.
The grand opening on March 13 starts at 10 AM and is open to everyone—from beginners to experienced Bitcoin users. Organisers are currently seeking sponsors to cover refreshments for the event, with a funding target of €700. Any extra money raised will go toward next month's rent.
As of March 2026, no other dedicated Bitcoin hubs or community centres are known to exist in Germany. This makes Bitcoin Metropole one of the first spaces of its kind in the country.
The hub offers a place for education, collaboration, and creativity around Bitcoin. With ongoing activities and community support, it plans to become a regular gathering spot for those interested in the technology. The opening event marks the start of what organisers hope will be a long-term project.
