Manner Deploys Its First Fully Electric Truck for Greener Logistics

Austrian confectioner Manner has begun using its first fully electric truck for daily factory logistics. The vehicle, a MAN eTGX, will transport raw materials between the company’s production sites in Vienna and Wolkersdorf. This move marks a step toward reducing transport emissions and adopting greener supply chain solutions. The electric truck operates primarily on renewable electricity. Power comes from both external green energy suppliers and Manner’s own photovoltaic system. With 330 kilowatts (449 horsepower), the vehicle is wrapped in Manner’s recognisable branding.

The Vienna–Wolkersdorf route demonstrates how electric trucks can reshape regional distribution and inter-factory transport. Manner aims to lower CO₂ emissions and cut noise pollution along the way. Beyond core logistics, the company is testing the truck’s potential for broader operational use. MAN Truck & Bus views battery-electric models as a practical choice for predictable logistics routes. Manner has already secured funding for a second electric tractor unit. Plans also include adding a 7.5-tonne electric delivery truck for urban distribution.

The electric truck’s deployment aligns with Manner’s push for a more sustainable energy supply chain. Further expansions, including additional electric vehicles, are already in progress. These changes will help reduce emissions and noise in the company’s daily operations.
