Renault Trucks debuts high-performance powertrain with AI-driven efficiency
Renault Trucks has unveiled a new powertrain for its T, T High, C, and K model ranges. The system combines an all-new engine, advanced transmission, and predictive driver-assistance features. It aims to improve performance, efficiency, and driver comfort. At the heart of the new powertrain is the DE13R engine. It delivers up to 540 horsepower and 2,800 Newton-meters of torque. The engine also achieves a maximum cylinder pressure of 250 bar, supported by a revamped fuel delivery system. For better control, it includes increased engine braking power with Optibrake+.
The powertrain pairs the DE13R with a next-generation Optidriver transmission. This offers gear changes up to 20% faster and smoother. Additional features include Predictive Engine Stop & Start, which automatically shuts off the engine when idle.
Driver comfort and efficiency remain central. The Optivision+ system optimises gear shifts and acceleration to cut fuel use. Models also come with Smart Steering and Driver Assist for a quieter, smoother ride. The Smart Racer variant bundles all fuel-saving technologies for the best energy efficiency. The new powertrain will be available across Renault Trucks’ T, T High, C, and K ranges. It combines power, speed, and smart systems to enhance driving and reduce fuel consumption. These updates reflect the company’s focus on performance and sustainability.
