Nova Rock kicks off with 200,000 fans and legendary headliners
Nova Rock, Austria’s largest rock festival, begins its music programme on Thursday. Over 200,000 fans are expected to attend the four-day event. Organisers have allowed early arrivals due to possible thunderstorms in the area. The festival will feature 80 bands, with Volbeat, Iron Maiden, The Cure, and Bring Me The Horizon as headliners. Near-perfect weather is predicted for most of the event, with Thursday and Friday remaining largely dry and temperatures staying below 21°C.
Saturday is likely to see the highest chance of rain and stronger winds. Sunday will bring clearer skies, with temperatures reaching 22°C.
Cashless payments will be the standard at the festival, and any remaining balance can be refunded. Waste disposal is included in the ticket price, and attendees will receive a €5 voucher for handing in a full bag of trash. The festival runs for four days, starting on Thursday. Fans can expect a mix of dry and wet conditions, with the best weather saved for the final day. Organisers have put measures in place to ensure smooth payments and cleanliness.
