Remote Russian workers finally get 4G after years of poor connectivity
A remote shift-work settlement near Dzhelyumken in Khabarovsk Krai now has reliable 4G and voice coverage. MTS has installed a new base station in the Amur District, bringing high-speed mobile internet to the area for the first time. The new base station serves a community of around a thousand workers. Before its launch, residents faced limited connectivity options.
With the upgrade, people can now use mobile internet without interruption. This means easier access to online apps, video calls with family, and streaming mobile TV during downtime.
The improved network covers both data and voice services. Workers in the settlement no longer have to rely on unstable or slow connections for daily tasks. The installation of the base station removes a long-standing barrier to digital access in the area. Residents can now use modern services in their free time, from messaging to entertainment. The upgrade reflects MTS’s push to expand coverage in underserved regions.
