Trane Technologies acquires German dealer TKV to boost Thermo King's European reach
Trane Technologies has completed the acquisition of Transport-Kälte-Vertrieb (TKV), a long-standing dealer of Thermo King and Frigoblock systems in southern Germany. The deal, finalised on 4 May, marks a strategic move to expand Thermo King’s direct sales and service operations across Europe.
The newly acquired company will now operate under the name TK Deutschland, with leadership handed to Jorge Estelle Caro. TKV had served customers in southern Germany for 55 years as one of five independent Thermo King and Frigoblock dealers in the country. Its Ulm location will remain open, continuing to function as a key sales and service centre for the region.
Claudio Zanframundo, President of Thermo King EMEA, highlighted that the acquisition opens fresh opportunities for investment and growth. The company’s broader network spans over 500 service points across 75 countries in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
The deal aligns with Thermo King’s goal of strengthening its in-house operations, particularly in cold chain logistics for road freight. Demand in this sector has been climbing due to tighter temperature regulations and sustainability requirements. Jorge Estelle Caro will take charge of TK Deutschland, with Herwig Kiesling staying on to support its development. The renamed TK Deutschland will now operate as part of Thermo King’s expanded network. The acquisition reinforces the company’s presence in Europe while maintaining TKV’s established service hub in Ulm. Future plans include further investment in cold chain solutions for transport and logistics.
